Letter received from DVLA this morning in response to my request to update the reg doc to 5 seats. They advise that an amended version should be sent to me within the next few days. It also says that the description of the vehicle is supplied by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders SMMT (not LR as suggetsed in some previous posts) and that my certificate will read Freelander SE TD4 - just as it says on the rear hatchback.

Sorry, really don't mean to appear rude, but if the the V5 is to read as per the badges on the rear of the car then isn't it "Freelander 2 __________ SE TD4". Or am I missing something here??? |

To be honest I always thought "Freelander 2" was a bit of a naff name - what was wrong with just Freelander? Maybe even give it a Mark Number or Series II or something, but not in it's actual name. I guess they wanted to disassociate the car with some of the bad reputation the old FL had (build quality etc).
