Side Strips or Steps or both

Contemplating fitting either strips or steps to beat the inconsiderates (usually fatties) who leave dents on your doors when in car parks but not sure which gives the best protection? Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?

Have the strips on mine but nothing short of an RSJ will stop some drivers from opening there doors on to you. But saying that I have not received any dings on the doors yet but I have tried to educate swmbo to park next to something that is of similar value and not the clapped banger.
I even parked last week with the offside wheels on the white line because the car in the next space but one up had done the same so It left a very tight space inbetween us, as I returned to the car a Censored in a clapped out Mondeo pulled into the space and could even open his door to get out, what a w Censored p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Go for strips, you will be forever sending your trousers to the cleaners getting the mud and cr*p of them from rubbing on the steps whilst getting out of your motor. In addition they are cheaper and do not impinge on the jacking up of the vehicle for tyre changing etc.

Had mine on for some months now and to date no dinks but there again we do shop at Waitrose Whistle MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

I always park close to other cars I think if you park isolated there is more chance of a thief targeting your belongings, plus if you park up tight it stops people walking between cars with shoping bags Thumbs Up

Junior, I was sat in mine the other weekend when a person of the female variety (you know them) in a Renault Scenic parked next to me so no one could walk though yes it stopped anyone getting past shopping bags, but it didn't stop here cracking the side of me with her door when getting out and again when she got back in and was then told by her not to park so f Censored close Shocked , couldn't believe Shocked she parked next to me Shocked , and to top it all the parking bay on her N/S was empty.

Also whilst there watched another person her was going in between parked cars with her shopping bags but couldn't get through because the bags were to bulky so she just dragged them over the bonnet of this Volvo up the windcreen along the roof and back down the rear window and boot Shocked she didn't give a t Censored p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Blame the car park designers who make the spaces too small, I have a rubber strip along the edge of all 4 doors so I don't chip the paint against the pillars in the multi storey or the car next to me Thumbs Up

Parking Bays to small is one and poor layout is another but bar far the inconsiderate people who have no respect for the property of others. Near me we have a retail park with all the usual stores in a long line and then six rows of parking bays are all parallel to the stores so people in the far rows just walk between the cars, where as the rows of parking should be going away from the stores and not parallel to them. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior
