All LR's used at Land Rover Experience for off road courses are Auto as is my own GS (second one) Remember S with either box does not have terrain response or cruise. All FL2's (3) Gone

If you go offroad or tow a trailer auto every time - just look at the posts for slipping clutches.

Not sure why people think this. I tow with a manual and my next car will be the same. If the engine is powerful enough and the clutch good, and you are not trying to tow something you shouldn't, then a manual will cope just as well - and your emissions and fuel consumption will be quite a bit better than in an auto. |

well had a think and another drive of a manual and think im gonna go for a manual. Theres far more about at my price range and with the price of diesel I'll take every MPG I can get! |

yep - i'd agree, recently had the same debate (in my head) and plumbed for the manual given the ever rise price of fuel - resale could be stronger later in life, given fuel prices will have got right of hand by that time!

They are frugal when compared to my old td5 defender stage 2+ I'd be lucky with 15mpg on the motorway! My current car, a mk5 golf GTI is doing about 27mpg on super unleaded (123.9p/litre) so anything more than that is a bonus! |
