Whine under load. Clunking on slow decent.

So, newbie on this board. Sorry if I've posted in wrong section etc...

my 2007 is now suffering from a whine/moan which enters the cabin under load and at speed. it's done 60k miles.

Thought is may be the rear diff needing oil - nope. fine.

Thought it may be the central prop shaft support - greased the bearings - no change.

Have now noticed that in neutral, engine off, going slowly down hill I get a clunk every few seconds from the rear. Wife said it sounds like it's coming from the middle.

Any ideas please?

I just know that if I take it to the LR garage here in France they are going to screw me so I'd like to have an idea first.

Wheel bearings?
Drive shafts?
rear diff?

help.

Okay, had to get it towed to the local French LR dealer.
It was the rear diff, replaced under warrenty and now nice and quiet again.

Serviced 60k miles at same time for 540euros (how does that compare to uk dealer prices please?)
