I am planning on changing the stereo as soon as I find a FL2. I will be putting in the double din Kenwood headunit I currently have with ipod connection and built in bluetooth.
The sub you have posted looks good and I've heard good things about it. To wire in to the factory stereo you will need a line out convertor which could possibly require you losing the feed to your back speakers.
Let me know if you need any other info.

I had heard that changing the stereo to an aftermarket unit would be at the expense of the Reverse sensor warning bleeps?

to be honest if you change the speakers without changing the headunit you will be gaining very little. The upgraded speakers are built to be driven by higher powers and using the standard headunit may make them sound awful. To be honest I would change the headunit first as this usually breathes a little life into standard speakers.

If you want to keep the standard headunit the other option is to use something like the JBL cleansweep and an amp but that can get expensive.[/url]

Smart little thing though. Back in the day we use to fill our boots with subs and amps then store all our belongings in the passenger footwells. Rolling with laughter 2008 Td4 Freelander2 GS - santorini black.

XS should have the alpine system which I reckon is quite good but not as good as the bose systems is the audi.
Sambuca let me know how you get on and what you decide to do.

On reading this topic I wonder if it is possible on the HSE to replace the double-din facia for an aftermarket system? Nothing wrong IMO with the factory Alpine unit but I would like a full screen unit that could accomodate DVD etc but would want to remain with Alpine. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

people have used kenwood the trouble is parking sensors integration and possible trouble connecting to steering wheels controls

I've installed a kenwood and a pioneer subwoofer and have my parking sensors still working. There is an adapter available by kenwood. don't know if other brands also have them yet.

I can do just about everything but mostly use usb to play music clips from which I downloaded from youtube and converted to divx.

Very happy with it.
See my gallery for pictures.

PS the subwoofer you suggest I have installed. Needs to be boxed in which will be a summer job.
