SQUEAK!

I have a loud SQUEAK which comes from (I think...) the rear N/S wheel, but when I turn slightly to the left. It's got me flummoxed. Any ideas chaps?

Hi rallyKeith, is your vehicals VIN-range: Up to H045063 ? if so these vehicals suffer from the type of bush fitted on both sides on the rear suspention causing the irritating squeek you describe. There is a Techical bulletin with a fix to solve this problem which have affected older cars Thumbs Up

Hi superspark - Do you have a reference number available of the Technical Bulletin to which you refer. I enquired at Team Valley last week when my 07 HSE manual (HO 05340) was in for 3rd service and they could find no record of the bulletin. They said it should have a letter and say 4 numbers as a reference eg. P0007 and if I could find out they will follow it up. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi Rallykeith i think this might be what you are looking for. There is also a service bullentin for a knocking sound on the front of the car kind regards superspark.

Technical Service Bulletin
No.LTB00048v5
04 February 2008
Reissue
Please replace the previous edition of this bulletin.

This bulletin supersedes TSB LTB00048v4/2007 dated 13 September, which should either be destroyed or clearly marked to show it is no longer valid (e.g. with a line across the page).

Subject/Concern: Creak/Clicking Noise From Rear of the Vehicle

Models:
Freelander 2/LR2 (LF) VIN-range: Up to H045063

Markets: All

Section: 204-02

Summary:
A creak or clicking noise emanating from the rear strut area on the left or right side of the vehicle. Most evident when traveling under 20mile/h (32km/h) turning left or right under sharp acceleration and/or braking. In worst cases when traveling under 20mile/h (32km/h) over bumps in a straight line.

This version has been issued for a change in the Suggested Customer Concern Code and Condition Code.

NOTE: This concern is NOT a rattling noise.

Hi Scarboro John
With reference to landrover technical bulletin to which i think may apply to your vehical. If nothing else get them to check it.

The reference your looking for is No.LTB00048v5
LTB stands for landrover Techical Bulletin 00048 relates to the problem and V5 is the revised document.
Im guessing here but the example you gave me P0000 etc would relate to a power train fault code.
Take the number reference code from above and tell them to look it up on the GTR website which all landrover dealers use.
I think their pulling the wool over your eyes. If there still playing dumb just private message me with your E-mail address and i will send you the full headed bulletin for you to print off. Lets see how dumb they play then best of luck Superspark
