LR Experience - Free Place

Hi all,

I've just been offered a place on the LR experience half day (there are 250 free places available on the LR website so take a look!).

Anyway, I assume many of you have done it and just wonder which vehicle you recommend (I'm toying with either the Freelander as obviously I know the vehicle and it'll be a good experience to test one off road without the risk of damaging mine or a defender as it's a 'proper' land rover)... also, did you turn up, do the driving and leave, or was there any pressure to part with money??

No such thing as a free lunch.........

Look forward to hearing from you!

Depends on what you want from it

a) to know what your car can do and be amazed

b) see what life on the farm would be like in a Defender

c) see what the other half live like in a FFRR Vogue

either car will be a shown on a short road section showing how they handle, then your driven on a near the limit off road course then get to drive up and down a set course

great day, showing the cars caperbililties off, you don't get a hard sell but maybe asked if you wish to upgrade to a full day course

take it have fun and most of all enjoy Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Great thanks npinks. That's exactly my dilema - I think the freelander is the best option just to be confident of its limits before ruining mine!!!!

Can't imagine what more I'd get from a full day really...

In this case the lunch is free Thumbs Up - well actually you don't get any lunch but to answer your question, No there is absolutely no pressure from these people to buy one, in fact I don't think they are anything to do with the sales. The only push (if anything) is towards an auto. I think we were there about 3 hours. Max three guests in the car + Instructor.

They ask if you have one already or are just looking, and with your answer they either:
1) Not got one, just looking - Let you drive it on the road for 20 mins or so, then in the rough.
2) Got one already - Go straight in with an extended offroad experience which we did as we already had a car.

Try the Freely as that's the car you own you really do need to see what it can do Thumbs Up

I've done a few of these as they will let you go once a year if you apply, there is no suggestion of buying anything while you are there. Just go and enjoy, I've just put myself down for one in a FL2 at the end of April in a bid to get the wife driving off road. 2009 FL2 GS
