Took delivery yesterday of a new FL2 HSE Auto in Lago Grey
Only option I went for was a full size spare.

Bit of a change from the Z4 I had before but to be honest the state of the roads where I live and the experiences with bad weather over the winter it seems the better option.

Ok who am I kidding i always wanted a 4x4 and the roads and the weather were just a good negotiating ruse with the missus.

I would post pics - but its filthy already from the 18 mile trip back from dealers - so these will follow at the weekend if I can get some time.

Dealer was excellent by the way (Armstrong Massey near York) - I can recommend wholeheartedly. Our first try at buying a Freelander was at Ripon Landrover ,who are nearer to us, and that was just a joke - totally uninterested in selling us a vehicle - avoid them like the plague if customer service is at all important to you - truly awful experience.

I am looking forward to our "Landrover Experience" in Skipton - I think for a first try in off-roading its best in someone else's vehicle!

Now to get bike rack sorted

Hope you have a fantastic time with the new FL.

Its a shame about the difference in standards between dealers, i cant begin to imagine how many sales LR loses through those first impressions made when you enter a dealership.

I had the same at first visit to Guy Salmon in Bristol, i was made to feel like a 2 year old when asking some technical questions. Eventually went to TH White at Wootten Bassett, excellent service and quite possibly the most pain free test drives ever (i tested 7 different 4 x 4s (Pathfinder, X3, CRV, Toureg, RAV4, D3 and X-Trail) before settling on a FL2) . Yes i wanted to try an Auto and Manual, they didnt blink an eyelid and gave me an hour on my own in each.

Pity we can have a dealer ranking board and then you could vote with your feet as to where you want to do business. Sport LE Lago Grey

Armstrong Massey were my original dealer, I will be still using (subject to price) them for servicing the newer FL2 as i couldn't fault the service department

Unfortunatly they couldn't meet the deal i was getting from LPR for the swap (said he wasn't getting a HSE same spec in as it, so could not match price)

I'll be ringing colin on service soon enough as the cars coming up to its first service in June Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Seem to be hearing this a lot recently about dealers. Oh & if you need to ring Landrover themselves don't expect much assistance from them either.

Just to say that the spare was a standard item but was recently deleted so LR could charge for YET another item that should be standard!  (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

Got mine after a C Class Merc - same reasons, crap roads, floods, snow etc. Landie is now over 2 1/2 years old with 30k miles. No major issues - a few gremlins which are pretty well sorted but it drives well and has been off road too. Mines a manual and averages around 36mpg overall

Stick with the good delare and enjoy it before the greenies try to ban them

Mine has them as well. Agree nice rims. Simply called 19" rims.

On the spec sheet of my car they were having an accossery nr. : 29Z06 2010 Freelander 2 Select TD4 auto....gone

I just checked, they are called 19" 7 spoke alloys. They are the 19" option to SE model, or standart for Select edition. 2010 Freelander 2 Select TD4 auto....gone

Are those alloys still available to buy new? Seen plenty of shadow chrome 10 spoke, and the triple sports. They look really nice and different
