Electrical Issues ?

Hi all,

Noticed a few "strange" things over the last couple of weeks.

1st of all, I was driving home one night using the Sat Nav (had been for a meal with work in an area I didnt know). After about 2 mins, my Sat Nav screen & radio flicked on & off 4 or 5 times before settling down & coming back on as normal.

Also today, I tried starting the car, key fob in, clutch pressed down, but nothing happened. The Sat Nav & radio come on, but the car wouldnt start. Tried removing foot off clutch & reapplying, but it still wouldnt start. (Thought I hadnt pressed the button long enough, but it only normally takes a quick push to start the engine).

Removed key fob, reinserted, and the engine started 1st time. The "boot up" checks took a little longer to do though, and when it eventually "loaded", my trip computer had reset itself (miles since last fill up, fuel mpg etc) ?

Any ideas ?

Cheers

Chris

Try to disconnect a battery for a few minutes and check its both contacts.

i had this in m first FL2 manual,

turned out to be software update for the radio, or thats what they told me

the none start could be a sign of a flat battery

there was a problem with the radio not switching off and leaving the satnav screen turned on (blank but illuminated) which could have drained your battery Idea Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Cheers guys.

I have a 50 mile round trip a day to work & back, so hopefully if the battery is low, this will charge it up, but something to keep an eye on !

I haven't noticed the sat nav screen staying on when the keyfob is removed, I always have the clock screensaver on, and this always goes off when the fob is removed (even in the pitch black, I have never seen it "illumiated black" either).

I also read that only single locking your door can drain the battery ? I always double lock it, but one to watch out for I suppose.

It was in warranty til Aug, but I've only just sent the warranty transfer of ownership form off, then read elsewhere that this needs to be sent off within 7 days of purchasing the vehicle - I sent it off about 2.5 weeks later Sad

Anyone had experience of this

Thanks again
