To put it into perspective, my first car was a Ford Anglia 105E but that was pretty old when I got it and your too young to remember that model I guess Question
Second was a Morris 1100 (heaven forbid that model was ever built)

In any case its not our age that counts its what you drive thats important Thumbs Up 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

United Kingdom

1985 - Vauxhall Viva (1.3 HC if I remember rightly, in green). Still owe my Dad the £300 he lent me LOL)
1986 - Renault 11 1.2 in dark blue
1988 - Renault 11 1.4 in red
1989 - Vauxhall Astra 1.4L in red
Bought a house and got married in 92 so my car had to go - used him indoor's less well specced Astra
1994 or 5 - Nissan Bluebird hatchback 1.8 GS
2002 - inherited the Nissan Almera 1.5 that him indoors had - he moved on to an Audi S3
2003 - Audi RS2 (probably my car of a lifetime) - and later that year a half share in a Seat Ibiza TDI Sport for when the RS2 was off the road
2008 - VW Golf GTI Mark V with DSG (made a mistake and never did really love that car - but then the RS2 would have been a hard act to follow)
2009 - him indoors agreed to take on GTI and I bought my current drive a 58 plate Honda S2000GT. He later chopped GTI in for a BMW 123d as he didn't get on with GTI either.

Weather over the last few months has had us questioning our sanity with 2 RWD cars. So a Freelander 2 or a Disco 3 is looking very attractive for later in the year. Downside is my precious Honda would have to go - I seem to have lost the last in first out argument re cars.

Didn't expect the Honda to move a wheel in the snow but the BMW was useless and got stuck at work for several days when him indoors tried to pick me up. Even the kind Defender driver couldn't tow it up the hill on to the main road. Also didn't expect the S2000 to be the only car I was using to go the yard to see the four legged horsepower - not quite the most practical vehicle. But I do love that car.

My God Garryac you could win the cup with that little lot. Shocked Lucky white heather anyone? Bet you have a few horror stories to tell. Embarassed

Suprising we both had MZ150's. Think mine was a 1974MY. What a horrible looking machine that was. funny ignition key too.

The Lada was ‘fun’ it was painted green with a brush, the same green as the local bus company as the previous owner worked in the bus garage..

Here is the MZ...bring back any memories?

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Zermatt Silver

The cars I have had have not been great, but all work horses, I did buy my first house at 21, so thats were most of the spare cash I had for toys went.
So theres no xi3i or GTE or fancy hot hatches.

I have driven everything from 50 year old Land Rovers (were I mastered doubling the clutch.) To East German Trabains to 5.7 ltr Corvettes and 500 s Class Mercs and have Hired allsorts 4x4s and family cars on Holiday from Europe to the States.

And now I have had time to think about apart from servicing and Mot's most have been very good motors apart from the One which cost the most to buy and the One I really like the most (you will get the idea.)

1. Mk 1 Escort 1.1 (6,000 miles) traded in for a 1,000 part x. only cost my 150 to buy.

2. Mk 3 Escort Estate 1.6 D (75,000 miles) 1, wheel bearing and a clutch. Girl parked it up a tree (180,000 mile on the clock when scrapped) Big Cry

3. A Lada 1.3 ?? Only had it for 4 weeks, which leaked loads of oil 2 gallon. Put an MOT on it and made 250.

4. Mk 3 Escort van (an old post man pat van) 80,000 miles and sold it with 240,000 on the clock. Only failed the mot once. Hole in the tail pipe. Thumbs Up

5. TY 250 trials bike a (Toy). Had to rebuild a few time over the years, but its still running a treat. Very Happy

6. Peugeot 305 Estate 1.9 D 12,000 miles, sold it and made 500.

7. Ford Sierra 1.8 Lx 40,000 miles, sold for 150 with 240,000 on the clock. It was on its last legs.

8. (Works) Escort MK5, 55 van 69,000 miles in Nine months (wiper blades, cam belt and a set of tyres)

9. VW Golf Mk4 1.4 (X Demo) 80,000 miles (Alternator, battery and 2 tail pipe)

10. VW 1.6 Polo 26,000 miles .good town runabout (tail pipe and manifold gasket.)

11. VW Passat TDI se 110bhp 65,000 miles (2 outer CV boots) Sold with 85,000 on the clock.

12. Self Built. Lotus 7 style Kit car only 3,000 miles. (Toy) Sold for a good profit. Very Happy Very Happy

13. Ford Focus 1.8 LX TDI 90bhp 54,000 miles (2 anti roll bar link arms and a started motor) that only packed up after I went through about 12 inches of water??

14. FL2 2.2 SE, The best and most expensive car I have paid for to Date. 26,000 miles on the clock almost 3 years old. At least 3,000 spent on Warranty work and TLC from Land Rover??? Big Cry Big Cry I think every recall/ Problem has been done now. Because its will be my turn to pay next Censored . Shall I trade it in while the price is strong and buy a VW or Q5. Or another Ford Focus because the boots still bigger then the FL2. With the load cover pulled closed.

15. My wifes VW EOS Thumbs Up 25,000 miles on the clock 3 years old (has only had wiper blades and servicing work) It dose need a set on tyres soon. No warranty recalls to date. They may have been done when services were done ???

As you can see I have had a lot of Fords & VW car (I thought Ford had something to with the build Quality of the FL2 when it was built) well its cost them for getting wrong if they did. Possible why Tata got LR Cheap??

I still LOVE my FL2 and its great in the snow ,what a car. But over 15 trips to the main dealer is getting a little boring. Yawn Yawn
