Why not use this as an excuse to buy a new set of alloys with tyres |

Agree - dont try and save on rubber to save a few pounds. New tyres all round is the most sensible thing 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof. Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc. |

I had a multi hole puncture and was told by the tyre supplier to re-new all four as they were about 3.5 mm. They gave some technical reason for this. I phoned Landrover and they said that there would be no problem just fitting one. I decided on two and put them on the back - this again was advised by the tyre company as I was going to go with the front. |

Am i right in saying that in normal road driving conditions 80% power to the front 20% to the rear, that would mean more wear on the front than the rear, so if new tyres on rear you will need to change the fronts sooner OR if new tyres on front longer to next change (possibly after you have traded in and got a newer FL2) but increase the possibility to need all 4 in one go. Takes your choice |

For the winter and I don't know why I bothered for 30 miles since the week before Christmas to NOW, I had two Wranglers at 4mm replaced on the front with two new ones. They cost 170 pounds each. The LR main dealer just kept them on the front, oh and incidently kept the old tyres, despite being asked to keep one aside for a spare, so had to buy an alloy and tyre off here recently. The rear have 6mm on them. Anyway, no problems. |

Just replaced my original Continentals with Wranglers. Best price for 235/65/17 was £130 each from a local tyre supplier, undercut all the internet offers. |

I thought tyre punctures were things of the past!!! For the last 6+years I have been using 'Run Flat' a tyre solution that can be had from various outlets ( I use Netparts) All you have to do is add an appropriate amount of the solution to the tyre after the wheel has been balanced. In most cases, the solution will seal the tyre permanently for the remaining lifetime of the tyre. I understand the Post Office has been using it for years on the entire motor fleet (not sure it has helped with the delivery of post though). This is of course no good if you already have a puncture but might be helpful for future reference |

Can you still put air in and out of the tyre? Like I have to drop pressure to 15 psi for sand driving then back to 32 psi on the blacktop?

No Sorry, - not that easy. If you had to reduce tyre pressure for whatever reason you would have to clean out the 'Run Flat' solution and refill after you had re inflated the tyre/s. |
