Yesterday we had 10 cm snow fall after 1 week of snowless sunshine weather.

I think the DSC system on LR vehicles is quite intrusive even in normal mode, it's caught me on some black ice before and saved me (luckily I would have just slid down into another clear road but that's not the point)

Mine did that once - in ice/snow the car started slipping as I reached for the TC it was already on! Never done it since - I dont think I imagined it But I have now got 19" with cross contacts instead of the pirelli p0 tyres - much better grip. G4 Freelander 2005 V6 HSE Stage 1 Thailand/Laos. Yes, it does do that occasionally in slippery snow or ice conditions. I never thought too much about it when it has done this just accepted it but it is not constant and it doesn’t do it all the time. It has happened to my TR in winter on the hills to and from the mountain cabin when it is slippery on the hills, so maybe it is acute sliding that activates the TR automatically.

It wouldn't be impossible for TR to be switched to a different mode by the electronics if excessive DSC intervention was detected but I'm not aware that it's a feature. Wouldn't be a bad feature though as it would configure the car more safely for the conditions that it thinks it's encountered? |

I'm not convinced it 'should' do it. as in programmed in, because on snowy lanes when, err, playing in normal and snow, even when I provoked the car to interfere in normal it didn't change to GGS, all that happens is the Light on the dash flickers and then goes off when it stops detecting slip. Are people's car's just doing this, or is the GGS icon on the TR knob actually lit up? Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35
