Yes, I think I had an hours wait at a service station on the M6 north of Birmingham, but that was due to the local LRA being busy, so one from Cheshire had to attend.

It was amazing to watch, The Disco I've got was only 2 months old. The Air Suspension went wonkey. Bouncey or what! The LRA Disco parks next to it, all kitted out as I said and the guy fits up a laptop to it and then the tool box comes out and he has it fixed with a new sensor in half an hour, during which time, us lot are having lunch and watching the proceedings in the car park. It looked so cool, so spectacular, so LR.

Had both LR and the AA.

LR mega efficient, turns up in the D3 all kitted out and painted like a first aid car. They have all the right equipment, diagnostic computers and a lot of the more common bits that fail. Can not be faulted.

AA are very pleasant, not so well up on things, nor have the tools and take the car into the main dealer.

It depends on where you break down as to what one you get.

On Monday last I was coming home from a Motor Club meeting and as the car had only being doing local runs for the whole of the previous week decided to use full acceleration down the motorway slip road to give it " a blow through". got up to quite a high speed when it cuts back and message appears on the screen "reduced engine power". Motored home and as it was near midnight left it until the next morning when same message appeared on start up.

Rang LRA and informed them of the problem. They stated they would organise someone to attend within 2 hours.
I asked if this would be an AA man and the response was would you rather have a Technician because it could take up to 3 hours to organise this. I said I could wait and within 2 hours a very smartly presented and polite Technician appears in Disco 3 with all the kit.

Computer revealed that there was a fault so guy checks all the Service Bulletins and finds one that only applies to FL2 Autos. Engine power reduced if air temperature less than-2 degrees.

10 minutes later car reprogrammed and problem solved.

Point of post. If it is only a wheel change for "her indoors" let the AA man come but if you think it really needs specialist attention ask for and wait for "the man in the Disco" who as Carnock says "cannot be faulted".

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Galway Green

So am I right to assume the LR technical will call if needed but for the simple stuff the AA are called?
The man from the AA said they had recently won the assistance contract from Mondial for both Land Rover and Jaguar. ______________________

The straight answer is yes, but if you think you need the Technician ASK FOR HIM.
