High Milers

Is anyone on here running a FL2 with over 70,000 miles?
Just wondering if there are any problems appearing with this sort of milage?

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Baltic Blue

Decided to run on for a bit with Emily, approaching 70k, none of the F/L1 quibbles surfacing, in fact fingers crossed touch wood, all running fine, did think of trading in but SE spec no longer available. Engine and transmission really on song, 40+ mpg (except in crap weather). Really enjoying driving her, will possibly drop to self servicing till c120k then look at trading in after facelift launched. still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit

good to hear! the ones i'm looking at are around that milage. Would probably run to about 120k and then get rid. servicing would be via an independent and not main dealer. Some good deals out there at the moment. Just missed out on one today black GS spec with 70,000 FLSH for 12k!!!!

I saw a black HSE the other day with 50k on the clock at £17500 which I think is a fairly good price.

Give me 19.5 months and I will tell you. Had my new Green Machine 17 days and done 2000 miles. If my calculations are correct, at this rate I will be at 70.000 in Sept 2011. FREELANER - I will let you know when I get to 70K Exclamation Great first 2K of driving, real mix of roads including a couple of Green Lanes. Fuel 39mpg - not bad I thought Smile ______________________

I'm not an owner yet but the two high miler SE's I've looked at (70k and 80k) both had splits on the side of the drivers seat above the seat adjustment switches. The split was identical so it's obviously a wear thing.

I saw the same splitting of the drivers seat side in a 2008 LR2 SE (Leather interior) with 118 kilometers last week. Wonder how heavy the owner was Rolling with laughter . The drivers seat in my 08 LR2 is in great condition (very few creases) but I'm under 200 lbs.

Indeed. Anything else a non FL2 owner should know when looking at them?

I went to look at them as well, was very tempted by the bedfordshire one but I think its been sold now. Not alot to check apart from the obvious and the TR works and no signs of electrical failure or off road abuse. Mind you i'm not an owner yet either.

There's now just the one in Bedfordshire up for sale Very Happy

When I looked at the one in Beds on Monday, it had come back up for sale after a previous buyer pulled out. I didn't like it since it looked like it had seen some action, what looked like off roading and towing, whereas the one in Berkshire hadn't (or at least I couldn't tell that it had). Service history with the one in Berks also looked a little more thorough. Time will tell if it was the correct choice or not...

congrats!hope you have a trouble free freelander experience!
Is the beds one still available then?think I have settled on a lower milage GS but may be worth a stupidly low offer if he cant shift it.

The beds one was certainly still available on Monday when I looked. I don't know how much he'll shift on price as he says that he can't buy them for that now (if that's the case then why isn't he trying to sell it for more?).

We considered looking for a lower mileage GS as well but we didn't find anything suitable at the price.

Good luck in your search!

It was http://www.woodside-landrovers.co.uk/sales/ but it looks like the FL2 has gone now.
