No, nothing, it wouldn't surprise me. Any model revisions are kept under wraps because they have a knock on effect on new car sales.

I mean would you have purchased a new one for 1st March if you knew something revised was coming out in 3-6 months?

Typical! So all the people that purchased new cars today will find they have purchased an obsolete model?

Quite right. Of course the stealers would be purposely quiet on the matter or they wouldn't get their 1st March orders.

Heard the story of the Frog and the Scorpion? It's relevent to stealers, although it would be hotley denied and we'd be informed it is a symbiotic relationship.

A Frog is sitting on by the side of a stream when it's approached by a Scorpion. Can you take me on your back and swim across the stream says the Scorpion to the Frog? No, says the Frog, you will be on my back and sting me and kill me. No I wont, says the Scorpion if I do that I'll drown and die in the water. An arguement ensues, before the Frog is convinced and agrees to take him.

The Scorpion jumps on the back of the Frog and the Frog starts to swim across the stream. Half way across, the Scorpion stings the Frog. Just before the Frog dies, it says to the Scorpion, why did you sting me, you will now drown and die as well. The Scorpion said, I am a Scorpion, it's in my nature to sting and kill you and with that they both died.

I've not had any news, but rest assured I'd let you know if I did! Will post something up as soon as anything is released. Thumbs Up

Carnoch - with the correct type of counseling, you can learn to love the dealer network. Wink

I'll take your word for that.

Personally, I think Lookers, under your management I hasten to add, delivers a good customer charter and commitment, however in common with other dealerships, your prime purpose is to sell vehicles. You just deliver it in a different format to others.

Can you say that IF dealers had heard that there was going to be an imminent variation to the vehicle or a facelift, that they'd tell all their customers prior to say the March order, knowing if they did, there wouldn't be very many new registrations for that month?

Of course, I'll have to take your word for ther candidness of the answer.

Embarassed Touched by your kind words!

I have today taken an order for a Range Rover TDV8, and although there is nothing official, I did mention that later in the year Land Rover may be replacing the engine with a larger TDV8.

Then I applaud you, you have an integrity few in your trade possess. If I have a jaded view of dealers, it is based on experience as most of our opinions are.

Dealers are normally the last to know, so I doubt they would hold it back. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Yes, but you can see why I would doubt they would come clean IF they did know. It would be like a Turkey announcing it's Christmas.
