these finishers look like they will be very much impeding the flow of exhaust gases leaving the system.

the actual standard exhaust points down at the end, and unless you cut off the turn down at the end before fitting the finisher, you will partially impede the exhaust flow.

have you noticed a decrease in performance and/or strange noises on acceleration ?

Iain

Iain,
There is no reason to be concerned about gas flow as the finishers are merely attachments that fit over the original exhaust tail pipe. The gas is emitted as it would when pipe is in standard trim as the chrome inishers are fitted over the pipe without being involved in the removal of gasses. With the particulate emissions from a diesel engine i wuld be doubtful that the passage of exhaust gas thru the chrome pipe would be conducive to the medium to log term life of the chromium and it would be very dirty in any case. Ralph

Somewhat disappointed with my LR tailpipe finisher - As the tailpipe is somewhat lower than the rear skirt you can see how the device is fitted. When looking at it from the rear okish but from sides a bit of a cobble. Will try to post some pics.

I bought the fitment blind thinking it was a good idea but now wish I had saved the £90 for mudflaps.

Is this how most LR finishers look like?????

Yours is fitted right. The LR one only looks any good if you have the rear bumper extension (bodykit) fitted. I offered mine up before the extension was fitted & thaught "Oh Dear!" (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

Ralphk, from the pictures it certainly looks to me as if the gas flow is restricted, could be the angle of the shot ??

thanks Ralph, I see what you mean, the exhaust flows out the bottom of the finisher unrestricted, and the end of the finisher is just for appearance.

very clear from your pictures.

I have the LR finisher and cut about 1.5 to 2 inches off the exhaust (still at the same angle). I don't have the rear skirt but the finisher is closer to the bumper and looks more "cosy".

my original thought was to have a custom tailpipe welded on... (OEM looking of course but functional)
