Removing mudguards?

My nice new sparkly FL2 is coming with mudguards fitted as an extra as I liked the look of them.
BUT... if I start not liking them can I take them off?? I've had a look at the fitting instructions online and it seems some pieces of trim are cut off on fitting but I can't figure out if they are visible if the flaps are removed. does anyone know?

Not exactly an answer, though this older thread might help:

Yeah I read that too, ta. Mmm I'll have a closer look on arrival if no-one else knows.

I installed mud flaps myself on my FL2 and "YES" you do have to cut away a bit of the cover under the front wheelarch so I think it will be visible if you remove the mudflaps Sad

I'll look out for you when I'm next over in the Letterkenny area seeing the family! Mr. Green
