United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Auto Zermatt Silver
finding the best price

Hello.

Does anyone have any advice, tips for getting the best price for a new FL2? Been scouring the internet and came across autobytel.co.uk which is a front for Inchcape dealer network. They have in turn put me in touch with a dealer in Derby who are offering £3300 discount on a brand new TD4 SE auto with metallic.

Planning to visit my local dealer - Guy Salmon in Leeds to give them the opportunity of getting my business before placing an order, but wanted to be in the strongest position possible before doing so.

Thanks in advance.

Martin

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Fuji White

That seems to be some discount!! and more than I've seen anywhere else, eg drive the deal, whatcar target price etc.

I'm taking delivery of a Td4 GS next Saturday and inc dealer fit extras I managed 8% off list plus mats, and I thought that was a great deal.

Dealer principal didn't look very happy with me and that means I've done my bit properly. Twisted Evil

If it's a legit deal then it seems to be a damn good price.

United Kingdom

Good Morning
I am about to change my Boxster (sob) for a Freelander 2 Td4 HSE Auto in Stornaway + Bi-Xenon headlights + DAB radio + alloy spare. The best quote so far is £29,204.00 from a company called 'allbrandsnew' (also known as motor depot) who have offices and garage in Hull. This equates to a saving of £4,609.00 off the mrrp. I found their web site when reading the Freelander review in Parkers Guide on the web. They seem very effecient and as the car has a couple of extras will be factory built with a build time of 14 weeks and therefore presumably not an import. It should be a very nice Christmas present.

The best quote to date from a local dealer is £31,446.00 - they are very keen to do a deal but still some £2,000 adrift.
Other quotes are Drive the Deal £31,077.17.
Buy a Car - £30,857.00

Hope this of use
Steve

Steve,

I've just spoken with allbrandsnew and their FL2's are imports from Malta. Only difference is that you don't get roadside assistance. Small price to pay when saving £1000's!

Hi Martin
It seems bizarre in these days of energy awareness that for the consumer to save money a car built in this country has to be transported thousands of miles by road and sea to Malta and back. It seems more logical to buy it from the factory direct. Thanks for the advise -
Regards Steve

I hunted for discounts when I got mine (ordered back in January) and one place with a good price was orangewheels who sourced it from an LR dealer near Preston. I ended up going with my local dealer though as he near enough matched the price. I think the discounts are much more forthcoming now that the early rush is over !
