athelstan - out of interest do you know how much savings can be had in Switzerland? for example, a Rolex GMT Master II-c (116710) is £4360 rrp here, what would be equivalent there?
IWC make some nice watches, and not badly priced either. My ultimate is the 18ct white gold, MOP dial, blue croc strap Lange 1 Bow down Phil

i tried to look in Geneva airport the other month, but they wasn't happy with me asking to try on to take watch details, tried a couple or so on but they was a lot more than i would have spent, and whilst doing this the chap was haggling a deal, and he walked out same time as me, I asked him, if prices are cheaper in the UK or there, he said they the shop in the airport was about 20% more than the jewelers he had seen the same watch in originally, i presume in the UK, but possibly in Geneva city itself Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Horrid awful watches on display - sorry chaps none of those are my cup of tea.

Phil_wkl: sorry cannot help with price on your fav Rolex.

Generally there is very little competition between retail outlets in the high street in CH, and discounts are only usually discussed on watches at +UK£30k. The airports sell at 8% or a little more below the high street and further discount may be discussed on premium ticket models. Tip:before chatting about "discounts" ask to be served by the Manager.

Finally, when I have compared prices in the UK for IWC models I have always found the UK to be between 10>15% higher than in the Samnaun valley. The place where I have found the keenest price for IWC is Singapore Airport.
