Lar, the two round pieces of foam in your top picture what is connected to these (Temperature sensor maybe or Microphone) |

In right-hand drive Freelander 2 the BT-microphone is behind the right foam, in left-hand drive vehicles the microphone is behind the left foam. |

The Microphone is placed as ROVERLAND said. The inside temperature sensor is behind that small grile, adiacent to steering colum, just in front of your left knee on right hand-driven cars, or right knee on left-hand driven vehicles. In other words, adiacent to steering column, towards the radio. |
