Yeah the HPI thing was my reasoning for getting a loan to pay off the remaining finance as I wouldn't buy a car showing as Finance outstanding on a HPI check. I've called the site sponsor and left a message for James to call me back. Hopefully he can give me some advice. Thanks. |

i have had a few of them in the past, normally they want YOU to buy a new car, so by making you think they want your car for somebody who is look for exact model you will spend 10K+ changing cars to a newer model Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |

I've done this while I was moving out of Germany in the past. I sold my car to dealer with financing on it. I got some cash out of the deal as well, but I lost unreasonably much money compared to closing the open balance and selling it privately.

just ring the finance firm for a settlement figure, Either you or whoever is buying the car can pay it off. At work

I have the settlement figure but would initially need to borrow the money to pay it off, meaning I'd get stung on the loan I use for early settlement as well as early settlement penalty on the finance. I don't know if I'd be comfortable with the buyer paying it off what if there was a problem with the payment and they've got the car, the finance would ultimately be with me. |

If You sell it privately, tell the purchaser to pay X ammont to the finance company over the phone Via debit card or bank transfer and the remaining balance of the selling price to you. Don't release the car until both transactions have been confirmed, This is standard practice. |

You should be able to get reasonable price from LR dealer as most are short of good S/Hand stock. From experience quite a lot of FL2s advertised on official LR website are "ghosts" they do not exist when you phone to enquire. "Sorry Mr------- but we sold that one yesterday, however we have ---- at £xx" which is usually a much less attractive vehicle or price.

Depending on how long you have had it but if you have paid 50% of the total amount payable if you have motor finance then you should be able to throw it back to the finance company & simply walk away & pay nothing. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.
