Does anyone know the correct load rating for Freelander tyres? The ones on there at the moment are 108, but most of the recommended ones are 104. I can't find anything published which gives a definitive answer. Normally I just use exactly the same size, speed and load rating, but the 104 are cheaper, and I'm skint!

The load rating on the 104 is for 900kgs where as the 108 is for 1000kgs, if it were me I would stick with the 108 ratings, tyres are not something I take a chance with. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Managed to find the answer to my own question.
Speed rating is H or V.
Load rating 104 or 108 for 17" tyres although can go down to 100 on other diameters!

Lets think a little...

A car will never stand on only one wheel, right? Well, almost never, except for some EXTREME off-road situations when most, not all, of the weight is on one wheel (facing down, diagonally, on a very, very steep incline, with only one wheel - lower one - stuck in a boulder) --- Not a FL2 case.

So lets assuming that a two wheel stand situation is more than usually to appear.
For example in cross axles situations - one diagonal on ground, while other diagonal in air.
In that situation, the wheels on ground must support the whole weight of the car.
Max. loading (Gross Vehicle Weight) for FL2 is 2505 kg - a very rare situation.
So ideally you'll need some tires that can withstand 1250 kg, meaning an 116 tyre type.
But you will have to be content on 108.
