Is Yorkshire open at weekends

Have to go and pick up a spoiler today from a chap in Sheffield. Can you tell me if Yorkshire is open today and also with there being no electricity (I assume) how do you go through traffic lights etc? Ralph

Yorkshire has always been closed (particularly in intellect) and especially on August 1st - "Yorkshire Day", since its English shire foundation in 1664. Prior to that it was a very open society, welcoming the invading Picts, Romans, Danes, Vikings, Angles, Saxon and latterly the Norman peoples. The cantankerous nature of the present population stems from this variegated tribal mix.

Like all expeditions into strange and somewhat foreign lands your journey should be well planned in advance for all possible eventualities.

Wink

Well I'm back and I cannot believe how nice the place is! I met the wife of the chap I bought the spoiler from and she was an absolute delight. Polite, friendly, accomodating (in the nicest way) and made the whole journey worthwhile. What a treasure she must be to her husband,
because of the way I have been treated I want Nick to start a programme of education to the masses who are not from Yorkshire. Not to change our views about those that contribute or cheat their way to awards or even fit non OEM wheels as I believe that the rest of the country can safely say that all the bad eggs have found their way to the forum. Nick you need to start classes for those Yorkshire people who are on the forum to improve their manners, their personal hygiene (I can smell chicken sh Censored t from here and finally their appreciation of the more refined and tolerant southern and midland folk. I will take it upon myself to contiue to improve the rapport between myself and the rest of the north of England (I gave up on the Scots a long while ago and I never bothered with the Welsh anyway).

So there I am, a much chastened individual and whilst I accept that my change of heart is based on a sample of one I was very impressed. In fact Mrs. K is feeling very insecure at the moment as I keep rabbiting on about this smashing Yorkshire lass. See I am even learning to speak Yorkshire now! Bow down Bow down Bow down Ralph

cheat Shocked( computer glitch) non oem wheels Shocked (premium upgrade wheels) Ralphy you are addled in the brain after a look down a Yorkshire lasses cleavage , besmirching my good name ye gods.

Cant argue with the personal hygiene bit though, Mrs G says I have to live in my new beer fridge from now on.

Yorkshire lasses proved too wild/headstrong for my kind nature so I imported a wife from Mersyside even though she had already settled in good old Yorkshire

I will leave it at that and let the Scots and the Welsh have their say. At work

Are you absolutely sure she wasn't in the employ of the Yorkshire Tourist Board, or even CG Exclamation

Athelstan, no, she was a genuine Yorkshire lass who saw in me what others on this forum plainly do not. I am kind, geerous and not an Anglophile at all. CG has tried to cheapen it by bringing it to the base level of lust but I refuse to be drawn. You must come to Yorkshire quickly and see for yourself what kind and generous people they really are. I have read your comments about their heritage etc. but I think you were reading the wrong book.
BTW I am trying to find the premuim upgrade wheels which CG says his are but cannot find them in the LR accessory catalogue. Has anyone gor a Halfords catalogue as they are probably in there.
Now the Wales Scotland match is over I expect there may be some robust retaliation for my earlier comments Ralph
