Hi everybody,
After quite a few problem with my LR2 (haven't posted details just not to rub my dealer up the wrong way), my main concerne now is the noise I get from the front suspension system. As many of you may know I have an i6, not a diesel. The problem appears on bumpy roads (not very bad ones) especially at low speeds. Just to be clear, I've done no off roading with my LR2, I've noticed the noise when getting in my house (have to travel off-road for 200m). At first I could here some rubbery noise from the front (left and right) - no impact on steering wheel. After visiting the dealer he said it's normal , but I can assure you that when I first bought the car it was very silent. As time and miles pass it gets worse: now when going on reverse and down a small ramp (eg getting out of my garage) it makes a knocking more metallic sound at the steering wheel. I would think of it as a problem at the steering box, a problem differnet from the first one. I've visited the dealer again. They can hear and feel both sounds! So we drove two more i6's (test drive cars) and they had the front suspension noise, but not the one at the steering wheel. I also got a diesel test drive: perfect silence on all suspension parts! Mine has 12000km on clock, that one had 15000.
So, I'm desperate for advice on this one. 3 out of 4 cars make the noise and I assure you it's not normal. Anyone else have noticed that or similar noise? I tried to find out about the diffenrence in suspension systems between diesel and petrol, but the parts guy told me they are the same, so the silent diesel car could be a coinsidence.
I wander if this happened at 12000km's what's goint to happen at 40000 or more?
