United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Auto Lago Grey
Got It, WOW!!!

We got our New Freelander 2 GS Auto Lago Grey on Friday
We bought it without a test drive or even sitting in one, we were trading in our P38 1996 Range Rover 4.6 HSE LPG.
I was concerned that the Freelander may be too low, not big enough, under powered, not as good a ride etc. etc.
The Range Rover needed a lot of money spent on it, so the decision was made to buy a new Freelander. There was no other option, other than a secondhand new shape Range Rover. A secondhand Range Rover would have had a lot of miles on it, cost more to run and possibly a lot of trouble.
Having had the Range Rover for 2 years I have been converted from a Jaguar only man to a LandRover only man. Why have a car when you can have a LandRover? you get the same luxury and you can go anywhere!
After the weather we have had recent years, Snow, Ice and floods, I dont want to drive a normal car anymore.
A couple of years ago we were travelling back from Somerset to Oxfordshire. We were trapped down country lanes in severe flooding. I was poised on the side of a "lake" that had formed in the road in our Xtye Jag pondering whether or not to risk it, a Discovery appeared on the other side and came straight through, the water was up to its bonnet. At this point I said to my wife, "we are getting one of those" and we did.
The Range Rover was brilliant in the snow, I was overtaking cars and other 4 wheel drives, down a snow and ice laden steep hill in low gear, no throttle, no brakes. Brilliant, and I smiled to myself.

Anyway, back to the point, the Freelander has expelled all my fears about it not being as good as the Range Rover.
It looks like a mini Range Rover, it has loads of power, it is smooth, quiet, comfortable, handles like some sports cars, good visibility and cheap to run and lots of techy bits
WOW
All I have to do now is somehow afford to replace the Xtype with another one.

If you havent got one, GET ONE!

Scotland 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Fuji White

Had my 08 GS Auto for almost 2 years, 25000 miles and just ordered same again for 1st March. No side steps this time.
Strongly advise you do LR driving experience to find out what a FL2 can really do, you will not believe its capabilities.
I have done 5 rounds of Scottish Rally Championship each about 60 forrest miles running 1 hour ahead of main event as course car in all weathers. Brilliant car. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.
