Roof Rails

Anyone had roof rails added to their FL2? How much did it cost?

I am currently speccing a new purchase and I am wondering if it is more cost effective to have it done after purchase.

For the 3 year warranty you have to go dealer fit

people are getting whistling at the moment, self fit could mean no recourse Confused Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

On something like that I would get the dealer to fit it/them especially on a new vehicle. I remember when I was talking to the guy in the parts department before I got the car & he said they were a bit of a pain to fit so if the dealer messes it up then they have to sort it, if you mess it up then you have the hastle of sorting it. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

I purchased them recently from the site sponsor. Fitted myself, it wasn't too difficult. Installation instruction wasn't too good, though. I found an easier way to fit the kit.
No whistling at all, the rails stay firm, ready for a roofbox with all the stuff Mrs M can squeeze into. Wink
All for less than 350 quids (rails + crossbars + P&P).

Fitted em myself - no pain really just make sure holes are drilled nice and neat and relevant torque applied to bolts (goes without saying). Cross bar is a bit fiddly and you have to be a bit inventive in how to tighten the bolts up but piece of pish really!!!

...AND the best thing NO NOISE!!!!!! Thumbs Up Nick Thornton
