I suspect that the factory-fit system may be an Alpine-manufactured OEM system, which might make it easier to integrate a branded Alpine one. I'll admit I've barely even seen one of the LR ones in the flesh, but I'm thinking it might be Alpine because:

1) The stereo is Alpine
2) Some of the SatNav phrases I've heard on demos are exactly the same ones I used to get on an Alpine system I used to have

Hardly conclusive evidence I know, but does anyone know if I'm right?

Nice pictures, thanks for this, wondered what it looked like behind there.

I know I probaly haven't seen inside many dashboards, but is it normal these days that the stereo is modular like this?

Also, which model do you have? Wondered which models actually have the speaker in the dash.

Hi,

I think that you get the central speaker when you have the surround sound system as found in the HSE.

I've got an XS so have the 'Alpine' branded system

Hi Aaron.

A few questions.

1) I assume that the Garmin is running on its internal battery and has to be taken out to recharge?
2) What are the small round holes along the right hand side?
3) Is it possible for you to post a new photograph or mail me a few photos as this one is not really in focus and I wouldn't want to spend 200 Euros unless I can see exactly what I'm getting.
