United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Lago Grey

Mine does all the funny directions on an off motorays etc.. It also has an in ability to pick the best route although it will give you choice of three bizarre routes! I've got used to putting waypoints in to get me to the right place!

Of course, I still carry the £2.99 special offer road map that gets be back on the straight and narrow whn I can't work out where the Sat Nav is taking me! '09 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto

Best nav is when assisting at forrest rallies and human nav reads route book and shouts at me. Sometimes for 40= miles in forrests and 100 on C class roads.
Usually works well Thumbs Up All FL2's (3) Gone

Hi All

Over the past month I have been thinking about changing my current 2007 SLK200 for something bigger, the Freelander 2 seems to fit the bill perfectly. I have done a fair deal of research and I want the HSE version, is this the best option? What I definitely need are: Sat Nav, Heated Leather Seats, iPod integration, 4WD, Climate Control, Diesel Engine, Auto Transmission, Climate Control. I'm looking to spend no more £21k but need to trade in my SLK. Is the HSE the best option and can I get something no older than 3 years old for that money? Is there anything I need to be aware of while searching?
Thanks in advance.

I think this new member was looking for feedback in genaral on a HSE not which sat nav is best, come on lads sat nav has NOW been done to death Whistle Whistle Whistle

HSE great. Has lots of things to play with like memory seats (which saves me shouting at the wife for moving **MY** seat), memory on the mirrors (ditto for last comment), It is the top of the range one and having had a lower spec previous FL1, my view is that the top end ones seem to remain nicer for longer. My favourite toy though is the heated front windscreen (I've used no deicer this winder) and the heated seats (I've not worn any thermals!).

The only real choice you need to make at the HSE end is which colour. It works best in Lago Grey, but hey that goes without saying! Very Happy '09 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto

translation. do not buy a new hse it will depreciate too fast. unless you intend to run it 5+ years then depreciation doesnt count

where as a 2nd hand hse is a good buy Thumbs Up At work

Message for erkybaby

I had a galway hse auto in the lakes for xmas. Superb in the snow. Saved my ass plenty of times. Esp on the gradients on kirkstone pass, the struggle etc. I am biased but buyin 1 when finances allow. We build em and want em. Btw hard 2 get 2nd hand. Every1 wants 1 at the mo. Live your life be free-lander

Good Point CG, Thumbs Up I bought mine at 12 months old and at the time 4x4 were taking a bashing in the press and got a very good deal getting over £10k off the list price of a new one. As it happens the prices have picked up now so if i wanted to get rid they are selling just over what I paid for it 18 months ago. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Thanks this is all very useful stuff, I have a few more questions though.
Are there any major differences between the spec of a 2007 HSE and a 2009/10 one?
Are there any known reliability issues with a 2007 HSE?
Do you think I can get something decent for £20k - £21k?

Thanks All

Erkybaby, since you are in London, I would definitely recommend either calling Matthew or James as suggested by James' post. Thumbs Up
I did and I have now booked my new FL2 hopefully due to arrive end of Jan '10. Very Happy

What is the major difference between the HSE and the SE?
I'm struggling to find a good HSE for £21k or less at the moment.

humm,
well according to http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/land...spx?page=7
its just the leather seat trim, though looking at the LR web site the HSE comes with DAB Radio, which
my SE does not have Sad

IS this all ?
