Australia 2009 Freelander 2 i6 HSE Auto Santorini Black

In Australia we have educated hamsters, they know how to spell. Laughing

Since my HSE is black, the black/silver badges look GOOOOOOD. Changing my wheel caps next (already have) and valve stem caps (LR USA has black/silver badge valve caps, LRN90310). I am also thinking about changing the tungsten door handles to Santorini black ones (LR USA, VPLAB0010PAB).

The other badges (front/rear and sides), as stated in other threads, don't fit the Freelander 2. I'm meeting with a company next week here in Sydney about getting some custom made. I'll post more on that when I know more. Customisation: LED (CW) Internal Lighting, Re-badged Steering Wheel (black/silver badge), Wheel Caps (black/silver badge), Black Magic Tint, Santorini Black handles

Accessories: LR Chronograph, LR Golf Umbrella, LR Pen, LR Key Chain, LR Hat (blue), Rubber Boot Protector Mat, Side Steps, Mud Flaps, Body Side Mouldings

Furyan,

which 10 spoke wheels do you have?

I had a set of silver/black centre caps for my 19in shadow chrome alloys, but they are silver not shadow and do not match the wheel.

Dont want to be a miserable old fart but I would not modify the steering wheel centre pad in any way. Drivers side airbag is housed behind and the thought of it going off with a badge which is not properly secured would scare me ****less. Anyone for a black badge between the eyes. still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit

It's just a little piece of plastic that sticks to the steering wheel with double sided tape just like the original green one.

You know what they say: Theres double sided tape and theres double sided tape, at least the OE stuff as gone through a test programme which is more than the local depot stuff as.
There you go Rowy, just proving that I am a miserable old fart! still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit

The Badges are the exact same ones landrover fit to the supercharged RR with landrover tape on the back off them just like a man would do in the factory.

Thanks for that Rowy but since Freeda is niether supercharged nor a series I will stick to the god given LR green. Cheers, A miserable old fart. Just firing up the Animals on media player, may be Alan Price and Eric Burdon will improve my temper. still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit

Yep, I have the 19" shadow chrome. I am removing the badges themselves and swapping them out. I knew they wouldn't match when I ordered them.

As for the steering wheel badge. I was speaking with one of the service guys for LR in Sydney a couple of days ago. I asked him to explain how the airbag deploys from the steering wheel. The centre cover (where badge is) flips up, there is a seam on the bottom edge.

Oh, the original green badge has four prongs that get bent when initially installed. They don't use double-sided tape when replacing it on RR (at least here in AUS). They use a form of epoxy (not knowing what it is called) apparently, grey rubbery substance when cured.

I used Araldite to adhear it, two small little points about 2mm each. Wanted to be able to remove it in the future, gets scratched etc. Customisation: LED (CW) Internal Lighting, Re-badged Steering Wheel (black/silver badge), Wheel Caps (black/silver badge), Black Magic Tint, Santorini Black handles

Accessories: LR Chronograph, LR Golf Umbrella, LR Pen, LR Key Chain, LR Hat (blue), Rubber Boot Protector Mat, Side Steps, Mud Flaps, Body Side Mouldings

npinks - I stuck it on top of the OEM greens (with hot air gun). It was my idea, but the wrapping company has printed it. Its the same film quality as the matt black film (made by 3M). HSE TD4, Auto, alpaca, matt black&carbon fibre wrapping, 235/65 R17 Conti CrossContact AT, 60mm H&R wheel spacers, Matzker sump guard, self-build side protection tubes, tinted headlamps, smoked side repeaters, auxiliary head lamps, caliper unit matt black powder-coated, colour coated front grille (without LR badge), side vents, light housing, Kuda iPhone console, car cigar jack in boot, „Black Rope“ dash trim kit, …

npinks - the LAND ROVER writting grey (strictly speaking silver) vinyl stuck on top of the black, so 2 different adhesive films. HSE TD4, Auto, alpaca, matt black&carbon fibre wrapping, 235/65 R17 Conti CrossContact AT, 60mm H&R wheel spacers, Matzker sump guard, self-build side protection tubes, tinted headlamps, smoked side repeaters, auxiliary head lamps, caliper unit matt black powder-coated, colour coated front grille (without LR badge), side vents, light housing, Kuda iPhone console, car cigar jack in boot, „Black Rope“ dash trim kit, …
