Spare wheel advice

Hi All
I purchased a used '07 FL2 from a main dealer a few weeks before Christmas. The LR used vehicle spec states that if the tyres are 4mm or below they will replace before purchase. Due to the tyres being very close to this reading they have agree to replace the 4 wheels and tyres to the upgraded 18inch wheels and tyres. Mine at present are 215/75/R16. They have achieved this by having a spare set of 18 inch wheels from a past customer.
My question is, when I mentioned the spare wheel only being 16 inches, I was told that the circumference will be the same as the 18 inch, as the tyres have a lower profile and that this would be alright. I also got the impression that if I had purchased the vehicle from new and had a wheel upgrade then the same would apply. E.G. they would only replace the road wheels.
Can anyone tell me if this is correct?

The S spec had no spare wheel, just a can of faom and a compressor. So yours was upgraded to have a spare wheel. Is it a steel temporary-use (with yellow 50mph warning) or alloy - both were options at the time?

I think I'd prefer to have 4 brand-new tyres on 16inch alloys than part-used tyres on 18inch whels that may have been abused.

I'm not sure of rolling radius of the different wheel/tyre combos - someone else will know.

Mine came with the standard 18" wheels and a 17" spare this was the norm on all models except for the "s" model which mentioned by Firestar which came with a compressor, unless when new the buyer specified there wish for a spare. LR get round the law that all tyres must be of the same size on each axle by terming the spare as for emergency use only. Roger47 - 16'', 17'',18'' and 19'' inch wheels have, as your stealer...sorry 'Dealer' said about the same circumference/rolling radius. The increase in rim size is compensated by the wall height which as the rim size increases the wall height decreases. I'm on factory fit 18'' (235/60R 18'') and have a factory fit 17'' spare (235/65R 17'')

Hi All
Thanks for all the quick replies. From what the salesman said I beleive the 18 inch wheels and tyres have only done about 1000 mlies. before the owner went for an upgrade. However I will check them when I go in to have them fitted.
