Both have same centres and bolt size 5*108. not sure about the offset though.

thought the FL2 shared its platform with some volvo, and shared wheels, as the test pics had these on the FL2.

The weight of the vehicle is not taken on the wheel bolts, it's on the wheel bore. So this MUST be the same to allow wheel swaps.

I told him to buy winter tyres, or at the least normal road tyres that grip in the wet

No other mention was made, however he thought I was interested in swapping my Freely for a Volvo and that I wanted to keep my winter wheels

Definitely as Martin says. The vertical force relies on the bore of the wheel being snug to the hub locator diameter otherwise the nuts/studs are under potential excessive sheer forces, which they aren't designed for. When you mount the wheel to the hub, if there is any vertical play (without nuts in place) the wheel is not suitable. |
