I Live in a small village at the bottom of scout scar in the lake district, we've had 12inches of snow, the council don't plow or grit the roads from the town (kendal) they do however drop piles of rock salt at the side of the road on a 1/10 hill out of the village. The old biddies from the village have cleared their drives of snow and stole the rock salt for their paths even though they have no chance of getting their Toyota yaris's off the drive.
