Think you will find that the outside diameter is the same - its just the 19" wheels are larger and the width of the tyre wall smaller (not the inside dia of the tyre smaller ) 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof. Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc. Last edited by AndyC on 21st Dec 2009 9:03 pm. Edited 1 time in total |

If you manage to source a single 19" wheel with no tyre - let me know.

Hi, does anyone know if the spare 17" will actually fit/work with the remainder being 19"? If the worst happens and I receive a puncture I want to know if it's a show stopper or I can look like an idiot until I limp into a tyre place?

You will be fine, LR sent all the Freelander 2's out with 17" spares unless you chose to buy a spare from the options list or if you had the "S" version then no spare. They do advise no more than 50mph when useing it though.

not quite the same but I changed from 17's to 18's allround and the speedo still agrees with my garmins speed read out exactly, indicating no change in rolling radius.

Tolerance on a speedo during manufacture is 0 to +10% so all are inaccurate, wheras the Garmin will be fairly accurate, providing it can see enough statelites with a wide enough angle of dangle.

Possibly, depends how you test accurate. There is a deliberate offset built into the cluster ECU calculation before it is presented to the gayometer.

Wheels fitted with fully 'worn' tyres will roll around quicker than brand new tyres (The rolling radius of a worn tyre is shorter) and therefore the speedo needs to be set by the manufacturer so that as a minimum, it shows the correct speed or marginally too fast with the worn tyre.

Surely that's the wrong way round? ie they would be doing 45 ? |

No I was judging my speed by the speedo , until I checked the garmin, I though I was doing 50 and everyone else 55. I sped up to a speedo 55 so kept at actual 50 with the traffic. there is a huge length of enforced 50mph on the A1 Leeming bar area so every mph counts.
