Man this thing is great in snow! I'm flying over the roads at double the speed most other cars are able to go. Mind you, I'm not doing stuped thing. On turns and slopes I'm still as careful as I need to be, but on a straight line it just flies!

You really have to work at it hard to make it spin it's wheels and then it only does it for a fraction of time.

It really takes of as from the snow as it nothing 's there while other are spinning and revving to get out of it.

I do have winter tyres fitted which probably are a big help too.

After about 15k miles / 25k kms the car still keeps impressing me!

Oh you get used to it when 5 months of the year is winter - but I bet you wouldnt swap with me would you

Of course the Freely2 with winter tyres drives with almost no problems in snow but its a better feeling to swap to summer tyres in spring  2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Off road wilderness (seldom found in Western Europe) in vast expanses of deep powder snow or crossing frozen tundra and lakes, or river "ice hyways". Siberia, Northern Arctic Canada, Alaska, Patagonia, Mongolia are a few of the places I'd pack a set.
Here in Europe an FL2 on winter tyres in skilled hands (those who have read their Owners Manual and have undertaken some form of winter driving course) will cope - no problem.

Never had to use them, but maybe in the mountains during spring when the snow melts during the day and freezes at night leaving a skating rink x10 slippery surface to drive down again - Still it is my co-driver that is driving most in those conditions and she would have no idea about putting on snow chains. I'm jealous of you Andy. The winters down here are absolutely s t. Rain, rain, rain and loads of wind . We get half an inch of snow and the entire road network and public transport grinds to a halt. Had to go out to pick Mrs up while snow came down pretty heavy around manchester. As the main roads are all blocked used a another route only to find a hill littered with cars and vans trying to go up and not going anywhere.
