Might it also be a fault with the temp sender, wiring, or with the cluster, and that the engine is reaching normal temperature quite normally? 58 HSE, auto, lago grey, tints. Mine and my dogs Storm and Sky

The main reason why it's a problem is that the cabin heater is next to useless for the first 10+ miles and beyond that, it is only acceptable once the T gauge is at normal. Because of that, I think the engine isn't heating nearly as quickly as it should. |

Doesn't sound right Andy, even today with the low temps we have within 3 or 4 mins were getting warmish air. |

I assume you had the pdc heater reconnected during the recall? It needs testing to see if its working At work At home "I can't always believe facts I read on the web" - Charles Dickens winner by default of the tractor vs caravan race |

Sounds like the thermostat is faulty - Mine is as warm as toast after several mins. driving 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof. Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc. |

Allegedly so. I remember them saying that it had been dealt with many months ago but I can't say I noticed anything different. I'l search for some old forum posts and investigate it tomorrow. |

During recent days (-7°C to -13°C) cold morning starts the car takes anything from a 2 second delay to a 5 second delay to fire up. At -13°C it was a distinctly lumpy start.

Have you tried pressing the "PROG" button on the dash. It turns on the PTC heater and warms up quite quickly. ______________________

its 0 here and my wifes car has not been run. In the interests of science I'm going to see how long / how many miles it takes to hit the "normal area ie the first mark on the white sector. I'll try not to stop but I cant go faster than 20 - 30 mph due to the snow - I'll report back very soon.
