My 07 does this in heavy rain. Mentioned to the dealers every time i've been there - same answer no report of a fault on the ecu so no problem they even spayed the car for ages and could not recreate the problem. Until I take it in with the fault nothing will be done.

Yep, me. I have a 2007 XS (which has front and rear sensors) and no towbar, yet I am about to fit one (could do with some tips on what make cos the LR is now £623 ouch!). Only had the car a week so still in the wash the car weekly phase but maybe this isn't helping if the sensors are prone to water ingress. When in reverse rear sensor is often a continuous tone, and loud! Goes off when I press "sensor off" button. It is an intermittent fault but annoying when it happens. |

I was very diligent in my testing before I had a fixed towbar fitted to my SE. I had already been experiencing wet weather continuous/erratic tones and didn't want to cause new issues with a towbar. I checked how far from the bumper I could position a vertical 2x2 timber before the rear sensors 'saw' it. I was able to get almost a foot away so had a Witter bar fitted which sits maybe 7" out. No problems whatsoever with the bar being present, except for existing wet weather issues which persist and are largely related to the front sensors anyway.

My LandRover removable tow bar has Brink badges on it...... get a quote for a brink from a specialist rather than through LR. |

Brink is model brand marketed by Thule of Sweden. Land Rover markets Brink as its own brand and who is presumably supplied by Thule. Brink = Thule = Land Rover 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof. Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc. |
