Its a well know fact that Stornoway Freelys do not suffer from the irritating "clunk" 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Thank God for the responses. I thought you had gone all polite and reasonable and that wouldn't do, would it? Ralph

I always have held the car on the handbrake prior to putting it in park. You also have to remember these cars often roll forward slightly before the handbrake takes hold. The way round it is to pop the car in neutral, put the handbrake on, so it holds and then pop it in park. It'll be clonk free then. You really only need to do this on a slope though Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass |

Mine clunks when selecting drive from neutral. Tested it this morning, on a level standing, from park to neutral, foot on brake, handbrake off, select drive and clunk. select neutral then back to drive and clunk. Nothing to do with park. Any ideas? |

Cleared itself two years ago. Now it's come back. Checked again - nothing to do with a slope or even going into park. Select neutral from drive with foot on brake and then select drive and it clunks!! |
