Firstly, don't forget it's perfectly normal for the oil to become disoloured with diesels. The oil change procedure is a tad fiddly, but still not too bad. You will need to remove the plate under the engine. You will need to replace the washer on the sump bolt. I've managed to remove my oil filter with a 27 mm socket. Be warned though, there is very little room between the top of the oil filter housing and the radiator, so the wrench needs to be narrow. I'd advise you try to loosen it slightly with whatever tools you have before comitting to draining the oil.

Having changed me my self, one word of wrning. The sump tray is no light wreight plastic rubbish as with most cars, so don't think hold with left hand whilst undoing screws with right....Whilst not onerously heavy it might be an idea to use another pair of hands to stop bruised head as it falls on you... I agree that that undershield its pretty heavy and I was impressed with the thickness of the plate . What I did was I removed all the bolts (there are six) except one from the front side of the car. Rear side of the plate sits on top of part of sub frame so wont fall down from that side. This way I managed to use both hands to lower the front side first and then take it off.
