I have had my FL2 for 7 months now, just approaching 12k. (Luv it!) The doors self lock after driving a few yards but the doors have never self locked at completion of a journey. Until the last fortnight, that is . As a rule, I don't lock my car whilst it is in my garage. It doesn't do it everytime, but when walking away I can hear it 'clunk' and the mirrors retract. I have eliminated pocket activation of the fob by leaving that on the garage bench ... It still locked. It worries me the fob and my keys are going to get locked in there soon. If it is an optional security feature. How do I turn it off again? |

Self locking usually only occurs if you unlock the car, but then do not open any of the doors or boot, after a minute or two if no activation of the hatches it locks itself again. |

That isn't happening on mine. Just unlocked the car, didn't open the doors. Nothing happened after ten minutes. Locked it again. Paused. Double unlocked, didn't open a door, nothing happened after ten or so mins. It's perishing out there ! |

F2hoo probably another little trip to the stealer or mention at the next service to get them to ammend the software. I never use it...but to be honest its a pain in the arse, unlock the car forget I wanted to put something in the boot, go back in house find object for the boot put keys down to lift object and carry back to car. Put load on the floor go to open boot....barstard thing has locked itself!!! So back in the house for the keys!! Just been out to time the self locking, 60 secs.....yeh like you say bloody fresh out there too!! Brrrrr!! |

Thanks carlfraz. As coincidence would have it, I took the car in for its first service yesterday morning. I was able to report on my 'locking' problem. Apparently the software upgrade is the cure-all. We'll see!

Not wishing to add to your woes Freelander2hoo ....but ...after your software update keep an eye on your mpg a number of people have noticed it seems to drop by anything up to 4 mpg hope you can avoid this little 'update extra'..... look forward to reading your Sunroof saga thread |

To be expected the technicians at my dealership could not replicate the problem. However, following the software upgrade delivered during the service it will now relock after a short period if the doors are not opened after the remote lock is released.
