Hand Brake & Gear Lever Gaiter Removal

Does anyone know how to get the leather "gaiters" off the gear & hand brake levers. Is it an easy job Question

Any guidance is very much appreciated. Thanks.

They are plastic (or pleather if you like) - unless you do have a special one Laughing 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Regardless of the substrate, the key element of my question refers to the method of removal. If you have nothing constructive to offer on that subject, then I'd appreciate you not filling this thread with trivia. Thanks.

The handbrake cable one is clipped on aswell, I remember seeing the clips after they had done some work

Though I can't recall the direction of the clips, I think you need to push down and move them towards the centre to unclip them from the plastic edge

Dont blame me if i'm wrong, I know nothing when it comes to car DIY, and i don't think its in the handbook so AndyC (or as i now call him HandyManny) will be able to help Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

CG - followed your link to previous thread and pixs - appreciated. Having seen the release "clip" I'm now confident of not breaking anything (I hope).

Checked the handbook (could have missed something) but I saw no reference to these two jobs. However your description of the way the hand brake gaiter is accessed is most helpful. Thanks.
