I have noticed a small improvement in MPG of around 1 mpg recently, and was wondering what had changed......

I then noticed I had Terrain Response set to Grass Gravel and Snow

So the question is if Sand Mode is "Sport" is Grass Gravel and Snow "Econ" ?

I guess the answer must be NO as it is intended for what it says it is intended for  2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Under System difficulties it clearly states: continued use of an incorrect program..........can reduce the durability of the drive systems

I can see over use of the mud and ruts prog doing that due to the HDC , but the other progs will make no difference to durability. At work

Bit of a generalisation that Andy?
As a rule, I don't use the programmes much, though I do use Sand for the traffic lights occasionally, and use them when needed.

at the week end i was blasting down the motorway and was getting 30mpg, switched to Grass/gravel and got an extra 0.2mpg

My dealer, my LRE driver have all told me its find to drive for extended periods in the TR systems

at the end of the day you could drive across a desert and need it in sand mode all day etc, but then they say it should be used on tarmac all the time as the car expects a little loss of traction, when it doesn't get on tarmac

Grass Gravel snow likewise you can drive for extended time with out problem

I have used GGS whilst towing the caravan and my mpg increase, i put it down to the fact it will be more full time 4x4 in that mode with a more delicate throttle responce  Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I thought the TR automatically changed back to normal mode above a certain speed? Note to self: must RTFM 58 HSE, auto, lago grey, tints. Mine and my dogs Storm and Sky

The car doesn't know what surface you are driving on so none of the settings will damage the car, the different settings only "highten" the senses of all the sensors that are fitted.

In a similar fashion when my mother used to tell me not to go out with wet hairs otherwise I would catch a cold.
The cold virus might be the most powerful known to man but it doesn't know if my hair is wet or dry  ______________________
