if it's bad on fuel Npinks you may as well run a diesel Range Rover ( I got avg 24.5 mpg around town and 28.5 on a run out of 58 plate auto)not that long ago. Rolling with laughter

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Tambora Flame

I have heard reports of oiled K&N filters causing problems when some of the oil is sucked out of the filter (when new or especially when generously re-oiled) contaminating the MAF sensor. Not specifically on FL2, as not many will be around, but certainly on other makes - dealers are well aware of it and charge for new sensors and time!! Don`t drive faster than your angel can fly!

2009 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Zermatt Silver

My wife drives our landrover all the time now so it now:

(a) Does not overtake anymore
(b) Does not do any long motorway journeys anymore
(c) Spends lots of time parked outside our local school

However, it is still averaging 38 mpg

It's chipped, it isn't an auto and it generally runs on Shell's normal diesel.

I've found that whilst super diesel's make knob all difference, certain supermarket diesel's can really degrade mpg - I lost 3 mpg in my Merc using Sainsbury's diesel New: Freelander2 GS 62 plate (MY13) - Santorini Black with Clearview & Front PDC
Old: Freelander2 XS 09 Plate - Zermatt Silver with ST3 remap (eco map), Garmin 1490T Sat Nav, Rear Seat Entertainment kit

Shell V-Power diesel and BP Ultimatedo make a difference if used constantly. If anything else, it keeps the common rail fuel system very clean. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
