Freelander 2 Chrome Accessories

Still waiting on my new FL2 - 12 weeks today...and hasn't arrived.

But, until it arrives I'd like to add a few chrome item to the spec, but does anyone know:

Where can you get Chrome Mirror Covers, and Chrome Door handle covers?

I have seen them advertised various places for the RR & Disco 3.

I also bought one of the italian made centre arm rests for the car, in Alpaca Leather, with the sliding top on, really nicely made, and good value too....just need the car to fit it too!

As the ultimate further accessory I have also taken a notion to a buy a early 80's Land Rover Series III County.....just looking for a really good one!

Any help on the chrome bits is much appreciated.

Alan

Hi Alan,

Where did you buy your centre arm rest? I would really like one of those as it is the only thing the FL2 is missing for me.

Stephen.

Arm Rest

Hi Stephen

I know what you mean, I have one on my Chrokee, and you really miss it.
if you go to :

www.woodcompany.com or email info@woodcompany.com

The guy is called Franco, they are in Italy, but the service was great, paid by paypal, and the arm rest are made to order, and it arrived within 12 days. The quality was great, my car is (rather will be when it arrives), a Nazca Sand GS Auto with Tundra Cloth, Alpaca, the one if picked was a all Leather Alpaca with sliding arm rest top.

Total price inc delivery was 128.50 Euro, which I thought was pretty good value.

Alan

Cheers for that Alan. They look very good. My only concern is that you loose 1 cup holder where it bolts in and possibly the other as it seems to overhang the cup holder in the picture. I have emailed them and am awaiting a reply. It would be nice for it to have cup holders when you open it up for the rear passengers as I dont have the rear centre armrest in my "s" model. Will post here when I hear from them.

Arm Rest

Stephen

Thats bad luck....they are getting a long holiday...luckly them!

Ref the cup holder.....I haven't got my car (still!), but when I test drove one (HSE), it didn't have a cup holder where the arm rest fits, just a square hole with a wee rubber mat at the bottom (perhaps Irish spec is a little different to UK?)...or this this updated kit?

I too thought about the arm rest overhanging the other cup holders, we'll just have to see in practise how it works out...when I eventually get the blooming car. Apparently the delay is because of the cold climate pack, even though they said 12 weeks inc the pack, I could have had a standard car sooner.

Anyway...found the chrome mirror covers are available from the dealer....anyone any advice on finding chrome door handle covers?

Can might not arrive now until end August thats 16 weeks from order...apparently the factory accidentally fitted a winter pack instead of a cold climate pack to the original car I ordered, and didn't give the option of paying more to get that car.....they sold it elsewhere, and restarted the manufacture of mine.....so another 4 weeks.....

i think (not totally sure Sad ) but the disco3 covers fit the FL2 too, and possibly the RRS aswell

These look to be original ones (and costs seem to be too at £120)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LAND-ROVER-RANGE-ROV...dZViewItem

and a company called Powerful UK Ltd sell alot of chrome LR parts, and i hear the quality is good (though they don't seem to have any at the moment, but it would be worth a email Thumbs Up

http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/powerful_uk_ltd/

It would also be worth contacting
Carstyling Studio (site sponser)
james @ Charles Hurst Landrover (Site sponsor) as been know to sort a little discount too Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

don't go buying £18 fitting kits for the caps thought if you opt for the £120's

Go to your local DIY store and there is some glue thats been recommended on here before
