2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Rimini Red
Wheel & Tyre Sizes

I presently have a Freelander 2 57 plate SE but was looking at a Red 58 plate HSE with the 19 inch spoke type wheels.

On asking dealership was advised that tyres were smaller in depth to accomodate bigger wheels (ie low profile) so ride would not be as smooth etc..

Anyone care to comment on this as I like the car the way it is - would this affect offroad etc.. ?

Recently swapping cars I have gone from 17's to 19's and I don't find the ride any different I still feel speed bumps and pot holes like before

I haven't off roaded the 19's and doubt I will as I have a set of 17's which I would use, shadow chromes are a pain the repair.... And have less side wall to protect them Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

it will be less smooth and less grippy off road due to less tyre wall flex, but not a huge difference. So unless you do the more extreme off road and need to let your tyre pressures down for that reason you can buy which ever you like Thumbs Up .

In my opinion anyways Whistle

but 19" s will:-
1. cost more for replacement tyres
2. get curbed more easily
3. Never look as good as my 18's Ner Ner At work
