Blinking alarm light

When I turned off the engine and removed the key today, the alarm indicator started to blink (FL2 2007, SE aut). I had not activated the alarm. I tried to start and stop several times, but the blinking is still there. No problems with the alarm going off when I am in the car, or shutting the doors using the key (remote). I cannot remember seeing the blinking alarm indicator light earlier when removing the key . Is this a fault? Or, should the alarm indicator blink? Or, have I been partially blind?

I've had the car for 3 months and very satisfied indeed. It's getting cold and icy on the roads here in Norway now, and I'm looking forward to compare the FL2 abilities to tackle Norwegian winter roads compared to my Disco 1.

Welcome to the forum bmj Thumbs Up
I think you will find the blinking alarm LED is normal when revoving the key fob. If I remember correctly it blinks a little differently when the alarm is activated. 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Thanks a lot for the replies. Then I'll go on driving without worrying too much. Used to worry about strange noises and warning lights turing up for no reason from previous experiences with SII, 110, RRC and Disco, so I guess its just a habit. Smile
