Npinks, what machine polisher did you go for G220? I've been thinking about getting one for sometime now. I try to keep the Landy in tip top shape (2 bucket wash method etc) - but i am beginning to notice a few swirls on the black paint... and was thinking of getting the G220 in - I believe this is a safer bet than a tru rotary machine, although perhaps not as good a finish as a rotary?

A bit off topic, but after nearly 2 years of ownership and having previously spotless alloys, I managed to kerb 2 wheels on a really high kerb trying to get out of a car park... gutted! anyone got any recommendations on repairs? - if more than £40 / £50 a wheel, i'll probably forget it and pick up a new set of alloys and tyres off e-Bay when the time comes...

Cheers
Steve 2008 SE, HSE wheels, Black Premium Leather, Privacy Glass, Sports Kit, Side Steps, various LED upgrades and Clear side indicators.

Yep I got the Meguiers G220 MkII, to be honest it cost quite a bit of money, if I goes pop, i will look at a cheaper version like the silverline or kestral DAS-6 ones

Don't forget you'll need a small backing plates and a assortment of pads, cutting, polishing, finishing etc

If your on detailingworld they get quite good reviews especially for somebody who won't use them everyday Thumbs Up

If your thinking about a DA DaveKGs guide on DW is great info to go on Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Each to there own

My mates laugh when i go on about cleaning my car, using microfibre drying towels, and wash techniques, polishes.

But they started droping hints that they have started washing theirs cars a little differently once i show them that theres are covered in swirl marks and mine wasn't

Still need to get the new one done mind you, but looking forward to having a few days doing it when i get the time and weather Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

So covering the bonnet with a Witney blanket, humming a lullaby and leaving the garage lights on overnight could be deemed a little excessive - well he is only 4months old. Smile

ps - mostly use Autoglym shampoo and deep shine polish after a good leathering. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

Black ones need a good rub down with a 50/50 mix of lard and sharp sand at least once a week to take that awful shine off the paint Thumbs Up
