After 2 years and 44000 miles I have just changed my 2.2 HSE for a new D4 XS.
Time with the FL2 was great, never missed a beat and absolutely no problems with it at all which makes a difference when deciding to stick to the same brand!

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Nazca Sand

Had mine for approx 7000 miles now and i'm delighted with it, just these last few days it's been through some horrible lanes full of mud and standing water, I even took it onto Burnham beach the other day whilst it was blowing a good 'un and torrential rain...I was puttering around in soft sand at the base of the cliffs and weaving in and out rocks/pools, childish I know but I thought it was great fun! (I did walk it first with the dogs to make sure all was well) Thumbs Up There's loads of room for the mutleys in the back and I think it's a great motorway cruiser too.

It has been one of the best cars i've owned to date and I look forward to driving it still, my only gripe is the cloth seats, i'd like to get them recovered sometime, oh...and the radio is not brilliant, but otherwise it's a great car. I get the feeling i'm going to like it even more as the winter settles in, it feels more assured as conditions worsen. Very comfy seats too, although I have to admit to needing to pump the drivers seat up more of late so I guess i'll have to have a word with the dealers.

Had mine almost 1.5 years, 13,500mls. Zero faults, only time it had to go to the dealer was for the heater recall. Top car Thumbs Up

Can Rapierwit and Quercus give me some indication as to what the early symptoms of the Haldex failure were as very occasionally I get what I can only describe as a "whooshing" sound when accelerating from low speed particularly when turning either left or right?

Any comments would be appreciated.

I've noticed a whooshing on the old FL2 and very occasionally on the new one, I put it down to the turbo or something Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Switzerland 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Zermatt Silver

I have mine since 2years and 45'000 km.

I had quite some issues, but minor.

- B-pillars
- Driver Seat
- DPF Full, visit dealer, a lot of issues, 5 times to the dealer, now full new, but still some issues.
- Gearshift - Change during 30'000km service

Otherwise, i'm quite happy with this car !!!

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey

8 months old and 10.000 miles and here's the list:

Steering rack replaced when 2 days old (left us stranded)
Boot light and power socket not wired in (although the dealer said it may have been them when wiring in the towbar)
Black trim around the windows is water-marked
There recently seems to be a really annoying electrical fault...sometimes the CD player refuses to play, the nav screen switches itself to the land rover badge and won't do anything, and it's blown the front, centre interior bulb. Another trip back to the dealer me thinks. Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35
Family's: 2009 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Auto, Stornoway
