I don't think it would be a straight swap, you will have to have the cars ECU updated to tell it has them so the lights turn a little.

Mine look to have less green plugs, so i presume there must be another wiring harness or something

You will need AFS ECU (which fits behind the glove box) and necessary wiring and also software update so that other ECUs (mainly Central Junction Box) can get it to work, not sure if its possible specially as the AFS circuit wires are missing. Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto

A FL2 with standard xenon has a auto levelling ECU fitted on the left side of the dash closer to A pillar(this is for UK models, on your car this should be right side A pillar). On a FL2 fitted with AFS this is replaced by the AFS ECU which handles both functions of levelling and adaptive lighting, so your car only has levelling module right now, so you need a AFS ECU.

It seems to be a lot of work for very little benefit when you already have standard xenons

I have to agree with npinks, I think its almost impossible because of the different wiring harness involved and also you will need to get the dealer to agree to update the software on the car. If you somehow do it and then have a problem elsewhere it will be very easy for the dealear to say its due to what you have done with AFS. Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto
