Hi,

I was looking trough the Freelander 2 catalog and noticed in the entry level model there is courtesy lights and in the SE model (in our country this is one model below HSE) it has approach lights. On the key there is a button to urn on the lights when approaching in the dark, but I don't inderstand is this on all models...also did the lights come up in dark when you get the key of the lock to leave the car?

In my Mercedes it goes like this: when you unlock the car at night, the park lights and the fog lights go on and go off after some time or after you open the dirvers door (when the inside lights turn on (just if it is dark outside). Also when you get the key out of the ignitiion the outside and inside liughts are turned on for some time. I liek this thing on my car but am not sure on which model is is available?

my car is a UK 'GS' model.

There is no automatic system for the approach lights connected to the alarm and locking. There is a button on the remote control which activates side lights and dipped headlights when you press it - the distance it works from is very good. The lights stay on for 30 seconds then turn off automatically, I undertand this time can be changed by the dealer. When I leave there is no automatic lighting but I can use the button on the remote to turn the lights on when I walk away.

I believe you can pull the headlamp full beam stork to give you 30 secs of exit lights too

OK, so that are the piddle lights that I would get in a SE model in our ceountry (one below HSE)....I was not cldear about what are the puddle lights..

Ah, so that's what they're for! Very useful for those dark country lanes.
