Chris W, If I was you I'd get my deposit back off these lying muppets and go and see James-thousands of pounds for factory priv glass Rolling with laughter

I got Film fitted for £180 by the same fella who does them for my local dealer and they put £150 quid on top for them selves,
I paid £500 for my sports kit from Guy Salmon Stockport and the same bodyshop My local dealer uses fitted it for £120 and they bonded it on as the sticky stuff doesn't really work and the kit starts peeling off.

Thanks for the info....hopfully will speak to the sales guys todays as no show yesterday. I do feel like pulling the plug on the deal just because of the way they have tried to slide in the film rather than what i asked for, but we will see what they have to say today.

James may well be getting a call after all....

Will update today on results...

yes I would agree, and you can't compare privacy glass to tints.

privacy glass is a factory fitted option, and tints are an after market accessory which in my own personal opinion devalue a car, as unlike privacy glass is not permanent and will deteriorate over time.

Just a quick update. Spoke with Sales Manager...and at the moment he's now looking round for a car with Glass not the film tint, advised him to give us options on what colours are available, we orginally asked for this

LR2 - GS - MANUAL - S Black
SPORTS KIT
PRIVACY GLASS

I also told him that we need an answer today....It's alot of beer tokens to pay for something what your not happy with.

the saga continues............................ Rolling Eyes

But i did speak to another sales rep who told me that the Glass will be tint (film) if fitted at the dealership and further more if is was a factory fittied i would have cost thousands of pounds. is this correct..

Chris Big Cry

According to the price list on the LR web site the option price for Privacy Glass is £337 inc. VAT. I paid £300 18 months ago for factory Privacy Glass which is much better that tints. I would reject the car is I were you.

Sounds like a stock car to me

the factory tinted glass option is only £300 iirc so it's not that much more than aftermarket tints

with factory you'll also not see the aerials built into the glass, with aftermarket you do Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Well after waiting 2 days for the dealer to turn round a say he cannot get another car with Glass from the group. we have decided to cancel the order. What a joke and to top it all the sales guy said "we always put tints on when people ask for Privcey Glass" The car was orderd from new with Glass????...tried it on i think Evil or Very Mad

Well after wasting 6 weeks we are back to square one...I think we need to get one on order before the VAT goes back up to 17.5%. Will drop James an e-mail soon to see what he has in stock or order new...

If anybody has any tips for best dealer give me a buzz Wink

Will e-mail you soon James if you get this Thumbs Up

Use www.drivethedeal.com as a bench mark and then see if any of the dealers can get near to their price.

edit : have just checked and a Freelander-e GS manual in metallic, full size spare and factory privacy glass is quoted at £21,294 - UK spec from franchised dealer delivered free to home address and includes 6months road tax and all other charges. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.
